Greetings friends,
Just wanted to let you all know I am done with my basic training for the military. A time to reflect.
Reflections on Basic Combat Training:
- Overall, very good experience
- I learned a lot about myself
- I learned a lot about others with different backgrounds
- I value patience a lot more
- Things such as social media take up way too much of our time
- life is peaceful without a cellphone (yes even in the midst of basic)
- writing letters is a lost art and is something we should all do more often, it is so nice to receive letters
- everyone needs to give 110% all of the time no matter what
- listening is the best way to learn, not talking...
- I could go on and on...
Reflections on Basic Music Course:
- playing music is liberating
- the scary/busy way of life came back little by little
- It was nice to be treated as a human being again
- having fun is the key to everything
There is much more I learned but the most important is being optimistic. You have to have a positive attitude. If you do that, things go by faster and easier. Not only that, you have fun! Yes you can have fun low crawling with a heavy sandbag going the distance of 3-4 volleyball fields one way. hehe
I am glad to be back... This Summer 2009 blog is now retired.
Take Care and thanks for reading!
Daniel
