Greetings friends,
So one week of training is done with at the USA School of Music. How wonderful it is. A recap:
- I play drums everyday
- My chops are coming back and are getting stronger
- I am really diggin on Steve Gadd
- I bought an iPod Touch and I can listen to my music again!
Ok... only one bad thing, I hit muscle failure on my PT test for situps, therefore not passing it. However I am quite confident I could pass it this instant. As I reflected over why I didn't pass, I realized my bad technique. I am going to have my roomate hold my feet for two minutes tonight and I bet I get close to 70 and I only needed 53 to pass... maybe next time I will simply take my time and think before I take the test, absolutely ridiculous. However the good thing is I am doing my mandatory PT, which I was going to do anyway... so my days are filled with workouts and music. This is the life!

- Daniel Heier
- Daniel Heier holds a Bachelor Degree in Percussion Performance from McNally Smith College of Music. As a member of the 147th Army Band, he is an accomplished performer in classical, jazz and commercial music. Throughout his education, Heier has studied under percussion greats such as David Stanoch, Marv Dahlgren, Kevin Washington, Gordy Knudtson, David Schmalenberger, and Chack Wackerman. He is a freelance performer through the Midwest, having performed with acts such as Anna Johnson, Phil Mattson, Matt Wallace, Small Town Anthem, and the Andy Gibson Band.
