I just had one of my first musical conversations in a long time! It was with Dearborn (fellow Army bandmember in my company). We were just naming off jazz albums and influences left and right. Not only that, he was naming drummers off like he studied drums for years. Amazing. Then he said, you know Roy Haynes? I'm like, "I have a story for you!!" Then I shared my experience with Roy Haynes. Wow. This was amazing.
